Barbara Mundraby


  
 
Barbara Mundraby’s traditional name is Bungan which means “Sunlight”.
Barbara is a highly respected Yidinji Aboriginal artist from Cairns in the Far North of Queensland, Australia.
Barbara’s family has close links to the Yarrabah Aboriginal community near Cairns. Yarrabah is a former Aboriginal mission located about an hour’s drive south of Cairns and is sometimes referred to as “Paradise by the Sea”.
Barbara’s distinctive artworks are inspired by the unspoiled natural beauty of the reef and rainforest environments of her traditional Yidinji homelands.
